I am very much looking forward to teaching my 10th year in Texas at Puster Elementary! Teaching fourth grade is a passion, therefore I'm proud to be teaching ELA and Social Studies for the 2017/2018 school year. I am dedicated to high quality education that is engaging and fun! My classroom is a place of cooperative learning, and I encourage students to attain their highest academic potential. Having a class pet, named Snowflake by previous students, does help in making our classroom one that will always be remembered!
Most of my early teaching career was in the Austin area. I've taught kindergarten and second grade; however, the majority of my teaching years have been spent teaching fourth grade. Previous to this school year, I spent a couple of years in Corpus Christi, where I was an intervention specialist for kindergarten through fifth grade. I adore education, so I sought out furthering my own education after school hours. My Master's Degree of Education Administration was completed in May of 2017 through Sam Houston State University.
Being native to Dallas, my husband and I have just moved back home. He recently transitioned from being an active duty Naval Aviator to a commercial pilot. When we started to contemplate where we would live after the Navy, we immediately knew DFW would be our 'forever' destination. We enjoy passionately serving our community, and we're overjoyed to settle down in this area.
I know this school year will be an exciting one at Puster! I'm inspired to provide exemplary educational opportunities for all my students. Communicating with students and families is a personal joy! So, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or simply want to chat.
