Aimee Brookshire

Hello Leopard Families!

My name is Aimee Brookshire and I am thrilled to yet again be a part of Puster Elementary's 4th-grade team! Puster has easily become my home as well as the home now to two of my own children. :)

This will be my third year in Lovejoy ISD teaching at Puster as a 4th-grade science teacher. Before coming to Lovejoy, I spent several years teaching in Richardson ISD at Liberty Middle School (Go Patriots!) where I taught 7th and 8th-grade science and reading intervention. I hold Texas certifications in 4-8 Generalist, EC-6 Generalist, and Secondary ESL.

I am a graduate of Texas Woman’s University and hold a Bachelor of Science with minors in both Interdisciplinary Studies and Biology. I am also in the process of attaining my MEd in Educational Administration from Lamar University with plans to graduate in December 2019.

I have been married for almost 16 years (together for 18) to my wonderful husband and best friend, Paul and we have three beautiful children. Our daughter, Hannah will be a freshman this year at Lovejoy HS and just received her driving permit. (EEK!) Our sons, Paul and Harrison will both be attending Puster this year as well! Paul V will be in first grade and our baby, Harrison will be a kindergartner. (**tear**)

**If you see me on the first day of school shedding a few tears, just know that it's because I'm in denial that all of my babies are growing up too fast! ;)**

If you can't already tell, my kids are a huge part of my life. I feel the same way though about all of my students. Each student that walks into my classroom, is one of my own. We grow together, laugh together, and at times we struggle. The important thing is that we always grow and my students never have to doubt how proud I am of them or how much I care. Learning is a beautiful thing but sometimes it's messy and that's ok! As a teacher, it is my job to foster an environment of joy, creative expression, and continuous building onto what they know, what they will learn in my class, and a bridge to where they're going. This being the intrinsic motivation that will help drive the remainder of their educational journey! It is going to be an amazing year with a lot of new discoveries and meaningful experiences! I cannot wait to share this year’s journey with your children.

Let's DO this, 2018-2019!!~ Mrs. Brookshire
