I’m beyond thrilled to be starting my 13th year teaching in Lovejoy and my 10th year at Puster! What an amazing place to be! I am excited about the years to come and making them wonderful years to remember.
Growing up, school was a struggle for my younger brother. He didn't seem to enjoy it much at all and often felt defeated at the end of the day. Seeing him have such a hard time is what inspired me to become a teacher. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Special Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2005. Axe’m Jacks!!! Since then, I have also become ESL certified and recently completed my Master's Degree in School Counseling.
In my free time I enjoy going to movies, concerts, and traveling any chance I get! I also like spending my time volunteering, spending quality time with friends and family, and being an active part of Teaching with Jamaica (I spend a portion of my summer there teaching/volunteering). I have a dog, Scout, that I absolutely adore, so I spoil him often! I’m always up for trying new things (skydiving, Tomato Battles, Color Run), curling up with a good book, cheering on the Rangers, and sipping coffee!
I'm looking forward to getting to know my students and encouraging them as they learn and grow throughout the year. I know we are going to have an exciting year filled with laughter!
