I love teaching kindergarten at Puster! So many changes happen in this incredibly important year of school. We BECOME readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists. We learn to work together, evolving into a class of friends, teammates, coaches, and cheerleaders, spurring each other to do our best. It is amazing to watch the growth that happens in our kindergarten class each year.
I began teaching for Lovejoy ISD in 2015. This will be my 21st year in education, mostly in kindergarten, with some time in first and third grades. Our classroom is a comfortable and friendly place where everyone can enjoy learning and trying new things.
My husband I have been married 32 years and enjoy dancing, scuba diving, traveling, gardening, reading, and being outdoors. Our oldest son and his wife taught English in Japan for 2 years and now live in San Marcos. Our youngest son and his wife live in Austin where he is finishing up his master's degree in architecture.
My master's degree is from UT Arlington and I have certifications for Reading Specialist, Gifted/Talented, ESL, and Master Reading Teacher. My Bachelor's degree is from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri where I majored in missions, Bible, and children's ministries. I love learning new things and hope to pass that passion on to all my students.
