Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southwest Texas State University. He started his teaching career in 2000 at Wyatt Elementary in Plano Independent School District. He then went on to get his masters in counseling from Amberton University. Mr. Smith was a counselor at Stinson Elementary in Plano I.S.D. from 2005-2011. This will be his tenth year at Puster Elementary. He is looking forward to a great year! His wife is the counselor at Sloan Creek Intermediate and he has 2 boys, Braden (13) and Blake (10).
My job is to serve our Puster Leopards. I am here to support the children, faculty, and parents in any way I can. I go into the classrooms to teach about social skills, character traits, decision-making, peer pressure, friendship, conflict resolution, safety and drug awareness, and study skills.
Throughout the year, I provide various small group counseling sessions in areas such as divorce, anger management, friendship, and social skills. Students, parents, and teachers may refer students to these groups.
I also provide a listening ear for individual students who may want to come and receive support and encouragement.
I look forward to having another successful year.
