My name is Regina Hutcheson. I am so excited to be the Reading Specialist teacher at Puster. I have been a teacher for 24 years. I graduated from the University of Texas Tyler with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. I received my reading recovery/balanced literacy training from Region 10 and am currently studying for an Educational Language Therapist certification.I have spent all but 5 years in 1st grade. My most recent position was as a 1st grade teacher at Puster Elementary. Before that, I taught 1st grade at the Classical Magnet School in Richardson,Texas. I am looking forward to the new school year. I get so excited when I see the excitement on my students faces as they become readers. Reading is a passion of mine and my goal is to make it a passion for my students as well.
On June 1, 2004, I was married to my wonderful husband, Chuck, and became an overnight mom to three children. My oldest stepson, Taylor, is a band director in Princeton. Next, is my stepson, Jacob. He is 25 and works in the insurance industry. My stepdaughter, Avery, who just turned 20, is starting her sophomore year at OSU.
I am thrilled to be a part of the Puster team, and can't wait to work with students!!!
